If you were the Prime Minister of Canada:
- what laws would you introduce?
- what laws would you remove?
- what would Canada be like if you were in charge?
If I were the Prime Minister of Canada, the laws I would introduce would be about homework and school. For homework, I would start by only allowing teachers to give a maximum or 3 pages of homework. Projects must be given at least 2 weeks ahead of time. For school, elementary schools would start at 8am and end around 2;30. High schools start at 9 or 10 and end at around 2:30 or 3. For cegep, it varies depending on classes as well as universities. The law I would take away would be the legalization of marijuana. It is really not good for your health and it pollutes the air. I think Canada (not to brag) would run pretty smoothly. I'm very aware of things happening in this world and I think a lot of prime Ministers have made some not so smart decisions so I think Canada would run well and smoothly. I think I would be a pretty decent Prime Minister.
If I were Prime Minister I would ban homework. I believe that after a long day at school students should not have to come home and do more work. I am an athlete so after school I often have a game or a practice and I then get home and have a lot of homework and most of the time it is due the next day. I know a lot of students struggle with the same thing. Like Kaleigh said, I would most definitely remove the right to smoke marijuana. It isn't good for you and it doesn't smell good too. If I were in charge I think Canada we be a great place too live. I know you can't please everyone but I would certainly try my best. I believe I would be a good Prime Minister.
If I were prime minister, I'd introduce a new law that would limit the amount of homework you would get. Teachers would have to give homework two days before the due date, and maximum 3 pages. Also, tests and projects have to be announced at least a week and a half ahead of time. i'd also make it so that students have to start school at 8:30 or later and end before 3:30 so that school is not super long. Another thing is that I'd limit the amount of petroleum produced in Alberta and in other places in Canada since it pollutes the air. I think that I'd be a pretty good prime minister for Canada, but my main focus would probably be kids.
If I was prime minster of Canada I think that I wouldn't do very well. I generally like to go with the flow and am quite indecisive so I don't think I will make the right decisions. Some of the laws I would introduce is that all the schools in Canada won't start before 8 o'clock. Another one I would do is that school is only 4 days of school per week instead of the normal 5. Also I would have the school day only for 4 hours instead of the 6 1/2 hours we have now, and I don't think homework should be a option for teachers, after being in a school for a few hours of your day no one wants to be at home doing more work.
If I were the prime minister, I would introduce four day school weeks and I would ban homework. I think that school takes up way too much of our lives when it really doesn't need to. We have over 30 hours of school a week, and homework in addition to that. I would remove laws like Bill 21. I think I would be a decent prime minister.
If I were the prime minister, I would make a lot of changes, school-wise and life wise. I would make a lot of new laws that would make life easier for people that live in Canada. I don't know exactly what laws I would make, but probably some related to safety like more strict laws on driving safely. I would remove the law that legalizes marijuana because I don't think its a good law. It increases the chances that young people will be interested and start smoking, which is very bad for your health. I think I would be a good prime minister because I'm responsible.
If I were pime minister, the first thing I would do is make kids only have 3 days of school. I ould also ban homework because kids time after school should be time to relax and take a break from learrning. I would remove the law of having to pay taxes because some people dont have enough money for it, there could be something they have enough money to buy but then when tax is added they end up not being able too. I would change the law for when people can start driving and let them start earlier. The Bill 21 law is something I would remove for sure because people should be able to be proud of their religion and show others. I dont think I would be a very good prime minister because im a very disorganized person and sometimes shy and i feel that I would have to be organize and more out going if I were prime minister. If I were n charge I think kids especially would be much happier.
If I was prime minister I would probably introduce more rules school wise. Such as less homework because that takes up too much of our time for the amount of lessons we are actually learning from doing homework. I would probably make school weeks 3-4 days long. The school days would start later (like 9am) abut still end earlier (like 1pm). Some laws that I would remove would be laws that don't necessarily affect me personally but laws that can have an impact on all Canadians, such as Bill 21. I don't think I would be the best prime minister since having that role is much more than just placing laws and taking away laws for your satisfaction. Although, with my ideas I think children would be much happier.
If I were the prime minister, I probably wouldn't be the best for such a big and important job like that and I would have thought that they had made a mistake or something. But other than that, if I was the prime minister I would give students less homework because I have been doing at least 3 hours of straight homework for the last couple of days, and after spending almost 7 hours at school, I don’t like having to go home and do another few hours of work, I would like to be able to hang out with some friends, and socialize or be able to spend some time outside. I find adults say that kids spend a whole lot of time on their phones of electronics and don’t go outside a lot, but for me the case is just not having enough time in a day to finish all of my homework and do it properly, go to school and go to any after school activities. So I am not always able to go outside. I understand that from a teacher's point of view, they just want us to fully understand whatever topic we are going over in class, but there are tutorials we can go to, so that if we are struggling in a class, we can go over it one on one with our professor.
Personally I would remove the BILL 21, because I think it is a dumb law and that the only reason that it was put into place was because not enough people were able to, or had the chance to vote against it. I think that it is making a lot of people unhappy, and that we should just let them support their religion and not get in trouble for it.
I think that if I were in charge of Canada, people would be a lot happier overall.
I think I would make a pretty good prime minister because I do have some fair points and good arguments to make, and I think our population would be happier to have me as prime minister.
As a prime minister, I would introduce some new laws. First of all, I would make Quebec like every other place, and have a middle school. I think middle school makes more sense because elementary to highschool is a really big change, and grade 7 is too young to be in highschool. I would remove the legalisation of marijuana because it's not good for you or the environment. Fianlly, I think that Canada would be pretty much the same if I were prime minister because I wouldn't make too many changes. I would be an okay prime minister because I would get the public involved but I also don't know much about politics, etc.
As prime minister I would definitely change a few things. First of all I'm not sure if this is a law but I would get rid of that bill 21 thing, that's just wrong. Second I would make Quebec like every other place in the world and have middle school, no cegep etc... I alos want to add that putting me as priminister wouldn't be the worst thing, I know I'm 13 but at least I, and I'm not stating any names, didn't legalize marijuana, I didn't make a law that says if you're gay you can't give blood and I also didn't make our nation have billions more dollars of debt Trudeau, oh sorry I mean unknown person.
If I was prime minister I would change and keep certain laws. For starters I would ban homework, you shouldn't be doing work at home if you do it at school already. Also I think that Bill 21 should be removed, it's a dumb law and it's pointless to have it.Also bill 21 goes against religious freedom.I would keep weed legalized because people are making huge amount of money from it.I would try and put more caution on the environment and try and push towards the green side.I honestly don't think that Canada would be in good hands if i were in charge.
If I were prime minster I would most probably ban all types of homework and assignments. It's just that I feel that when you come home you should be able to relax from a hard day of school. Another thing that I find super annoying is that I have to wake up at 6:15 in the morning and I'm always extremely tired when I arrive to school. The time would be changed from 7:55 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. This would give us more of an opportunity to catch up on our sleep. Obviously I wouldn't be the best prime minister because I would want everything my way, which is not fair for others.
The laws that I would introduce is to ban homework and test because if your in school for about 7 hours a day and your doing work the whole time you shouldn't have extra stuff to do at home. I would remove Bill 21 because I find that everyone should be able to show there religious clothes or symbols. I think that Canada would be one of the best counntry's in the world because I would do a lot of things that my citizens would want me to chANGE AND i would do it as fast as I can.
If I were prime minister, I would ban all homework. I would also make Monday an official weekend day. I feel that this would so much better for everyone and it would help are school system a lot. You already go to school for seven hours a day, you don't need more when you get home. A law that I would remove is Bill 21. Everyone should be allowed to wear whatever they want. I don't think that I would be the best prime minister because I really don't know what I'm doing.
If I was Prime Minister, I don't think I would be good because i'm not good at making decisions. One of the laws I think I would introduce is fewer school hours and later school starts. It's actually a proven fact that if kids go play outside instead of going to school more hours they actually do better in their studies. Especially teenagers need there sleep. If there going to school tired and not focus then they would not be able to remember the information that they are learning. If I had to ban a law I would ban the law bill 21 because I think that everyone should express their culture or religion no matter what.
If I was the prime minister, it would not work out I can't make important decision and trust in myself enough, to make a decision. I would put in law no homework because it is useless. When I go home I have activities and shores to do I can't always stress about school and finishing my homework on time. That would mean kids would go to sleep earlier and that means they can pay attention more in class.
I would introduce laws for ensuring our future and present education system is set in place in order that our new generation is properly educated and financed. I feel that I should remove the law of bill 21,because of the fact that in today's culture, everyone should be able to express themselves in a way that is respectful to our society today. Meaning that, as long as our laws protect our society, yet remain open to our emerging society of cultures, religions, etc. If I was in charge of Canada, I would promote the equalization of our society, and to be fair to all who live with us, in keeping in mind that all our cultures can come together to unite Canada and all our people.
If I was the prime minister, the law that I would like to add would be to ban pesticides used in agriculture as they are bad for human beings. Some people think that they should be used so there’s no bugs in the plants. But, at the same time people are consuming probably even more harmful chemicals. I would also add a law where students can’t get more than 2 hours of homework. I believe that students are getting a lot of homework and they don’t get time on their own. This doesn't give a chance for the students to develop their own talents like art , music ,etc. This also causes students lack of physical activities. Another law that I would make is to impose fine if anyone litters. I know some places have already taken actions towards that but, I think that it needs to be more serious problem. Especially populated areas like downtown and amusement parks. The law that I would take out in Quebec is that there should be no compulsion for students to go to a french school. I have friends that were forced to switch from an english school to a french school because of this law. This had a big impact on their life, it caused them to fall behind in class and it was very stressful for them. Students should be given the choice of choosing which school they want to go to. I cannot say that I would be a good Prime Minister because I don’t have any experience related to this and I am not a good public speaker.Although I believe that I have some good ideas that would benefit the citizens of Canada.
If I was prime minister I would definitely work on the education system. There's things like homework and the amount of sleep students get that have not been touched on by most politicians. I , like how others have said too, would remove bill 21. That is a bad law and should not have been passed. There isn't really a law I would add. Maybe a law on using less fossil fuels.
If I become prime minister of Canada , I would probably only pass a law about limiting the use of fossil fuels, and only about 5% at that. What a lot of people don't realize is that humans aren't robots , and they won't do what you told them to do because you told them to. What they also don't realize is that the county is in a very delicate state . Anything major can tip the economies burning and cause another great depression or something like that .
If I were the prime minister of Canada, the first thing I would change is how much women get paid compared to men. Women get paid less than men for doing the same job, I think this is very wrong and would make it illegal to pay women less than men for the same job. I would remove Bill 21, as I think this is a very unnecessary law and most people don't agree with it. I think I would be a great prime minister because I make good decisions and think of the future of my people.
If I were prime minister of canada i would improve the education system by setting all school time from 8:00 to 2:30 just like our school does. I would make a homework limit for teachers to give out and not permit them to give more than two pieces of homework per week and no homework during the week a project is due. I would also not allow teachers to take away students phones because technically taking their phone away regardless of school policy is stealing, the student used their own money to pay for that phone and sometimes need it to get home and contact their parents. After school detentions will also go away because kids shouldn't be kept after-school as a punishment. I would remove the law of bill 21 because everyone has a right to embrace themselves. I feel like canada would do okay if i was prime minister because im most likely going to do something towards helping our planet and stopping climate change and I would do things to benefit the less fortunate people in our country rather than the comfortable people.
If I ever was the Prime Minister of Canada, I would definitely focus the most on our education. For instance I would make the school hours from 9:30-3:30. This would help many students out because nobody wants to be waking up so early, then getting something taught to you at 7 in the morning. Also, I think it will improve their grades because their brains will be fully awake and they will be able to learn more and become smarter. I would also ban homework because many many many students stress over the amount of homework they get, especially in high school. Now one law I would get rid of is Bill 21. Everyone should be able to express their religion however they want (in an appropriate way). I think that Canada would still stay the same since I’m not really changing that much. I feel like I would be an okay Prime Minister because I would focus more on education but also, I don’t really know much about politics.
If I were to be a prime minister, i’d make improvements on school. Students spend hours at school doing work and there shouldn’t be a need to give more at home. If a student didn’t complete their classwork, it’s reasonable to be given as homework. Once students come home from school it’s their personal time to do whatever they like. Personally, I have a lot of extracurricular activities which means I normally get home very late and spend a lot of time on homework. Many kids are involved in after school activities like sports which is why teachers should be more considerate towards them. I understand the point of view of teachers doing it to make you a better student and give a better understanding of a subject but there’s no need to do it everyday. Another change would be that students should be advised of projects or upcoming assignments 1-2 weeks ahead of time instead of giving it the week of.
Personally I find that I would not be a great prime minister considering the fact that I can be very indecisive, and impatient which are bad qualities to seek in a prime minister but I can be very creative, determined and responsible.
If I were the prime minister of Canada I would improve the way us kids learn. I think we should improve the way the teachers teach and what exactly they teach and whether it is going to help us in the future or not. We do a whole 7 hours of work and I don't think we should have to do even more once we go home. I have other things to do after school like basketball and just enjoy time with my friends and family. Homework gets in the way of those activities sometimes and I think it's ridiculous. All the teachers should get kinda like tested to see if they are actually good teachers before actually letting them teach high school kids. I don't think I would be a good prime minister because I stress a lot and I feel like it would be a lot of work.
I think Canada (not to brag) would run pretty smoothly. I'm very aware of things happening in this world and I think a lot of prime Ministers have made some not so smart decisions so I think Canada would run well and smoothly. What they also don't realize is that the county is in a very delicate state . Anything major can tip the economies burning and cause another great depression or something like that .
ReplyDeleteIf I were the prime minister of Canada, the first thing I would change is how much women get paid compared to men.
ReplyDeleteIf I were prime minister of canada i would improve the education system by setting all school time from 8:00 to 2:30 just like our school does.

ReplyDeleteIf I ever was the Prime Minister of Canada, I would definitely focus the most on our education.

ReplyDeleteIf I were to be a prime minister, i’d make improvements on school.
Thank you
Great reasons and blog!
DeleteIf I were the prime minister of Canada I would improve the way us kids learn.
