ReplyDeleteBefore the events of September 11th traveling on a plane was much different. The security system was a lot worse. For example ,you use to be able to bring a water bottle on the plane. After the events of September 11th traveling on a plane was much much different. The security system now is very good. After 911 I think people got more conscious and now it is almost impossible to bring weapons,bombs etc. It is important for us students to know about this tragedy because so many families and friends of victims still struggle everyday and today is a day to remember and have these people in our thoughts.

DeleteSeptember 11th changed the security check at airports alot. Since I wasn't born, I don't know what it was exactly like, but my parents tell me, that going through security was so much simpler than before, which isn't better, but it sure changed everything. Before, you didn't have to take off your shoes, and you were allowed to leave the airport and walk back in without having to go through customs and security all over again. You could even be at the airport only an hour before your flight because the security wasn't as thorough as it is today. The security was definitely easier but definitely not better. It may be a hassle to go through security and customs but it's the safest and best way to prevent tragedies. Today everything is so much more thorough. It important that we learn about September 11th because it a day to remember what happened 18 years ago, to remember the victims and have them and their families in our thoughts during sad days like September 11th.

DeletePersonally I wouldn't know what traveling was like before the event only because I've never been on a plane, but I can assume that they now have top of the line security systems and protocols just like Maeve said. It's also like an investigation now when you arrive to the airport, because they end up asking you all these types of questions. After the event everything was different. For instance, they received all new types of security rules when traveling, such as everything is now needed to be small like your shampoo bottles and they can sometimes profile you. This event is very important because it was one of the largest events in history and this is the day to remember the people that we lost and struggles that we overcame.

DeleteBefore September 11, 2001, everything was easy at the airport. Security wasn't as strict and it was easy to sneak stuff across security. But the big thing is that on the actual planes, there was not a door that was locked between the cockpit and the passenger side of the plane. Now there is. That's what made a huge difference in the 9/11 attacks. If there was that door on all those planes back in 2001, thousands of people wouldn't have died. Now because of those attacks, security is so much longer to go through and much more thorough. Now you have to take off your shoes, empty your water bottle, minimize the amount of liquids that you bring, etc. I think that it is important that all students learn about this day because it creates awareness for such a big tragedy and they can possibly help stop the next 9/11.

DeleteBefore 9/11 airports were a lot less secure, they wouldn't take away water bottles they would very rarely conduct "random searches" on normal people, but after this tragedy everything changed. They put much more security in airports they wouldn't let anyone go until it seemed like they'd been checking you for hours and they would even check children for weapons or contraband. I think it's important that we learn about an event like this to create awareness for the hardships that others went through.
ReplyDeleteI don't know exactly what flight was like before September 11th since I wasn't born yet. But from what I've heard flight before September 11th was very different. You could bring so many more things onto the plane.Security had more trust in the people boarding the plane and let people bring almost anything. After September 11th travelling on a plane became way more secure. The rules are very strict and there are many things you can't bring onto a plane and very little things you can.Lastly, I think it's important for students to learn about this tragedy so they don't repeat these mistakes in the future. 9/11 was a very tragic day. Over 3000 people never knew it would be their last day seeing and spending time with their family. I think we should learn about this to remember the victims on this tragic day.

ReplyDeleteI don't know much about fligt before but to what i heard from my parents it wasn't really secure and most of the time people would bring things that were not aloud to in this decade.Post of september 11 most people were really scared to go on planes cause they thought that they were going to crash. They also make you go threw security and they check your bags.I think that students to know that,that was one of the most tragic tings almost to ever happen. Tey also shouldn't make fun of it and it's not nice cause maye one day wen they say a joke about 9/11 that person can have a sibling or family memebr that sadly past away from the crashes.

DeleteSeptember 11th, 2001 changed the world. Although our world will never be the same, it all changed for the better. Airport securities have gotten stricter every year since the 911. My parents told me that they didn’t have to do anything for security before 911. No metal detectors, shoes were left on, bags weren’t checked, etc. Everything was much more simple. However, post the 911 attacks, security was enforced more and more. Now, we have to do many things in order to get on the plane. It is so important that students are told about this tragedy. We have to know because if we’re not being taught that this stuff is wrong, we could end up being the ones to repeat it. In conclusion, we will never forget the tragedies of September 11, 2001.

I wasn't born until 2006, so I obviously hadn't been on a plane before the events, but I've heard about how different it was. There was way less security.You would be able to bring a water bottle, food, and even a laptop before. Now they are very strict and careful about what goes on the plane. It is important for students to learn about this day because some people are still struggling because of it. I think we should learn about it to remember the victims and their poor families.

DeleteBefore September 11th, 2001, travel was very different. In addition to regular metal detectors, many U.S. airports now use full-body scanning machines. People now have to take their shoes off for security. Before 9/11, people flying domestic could board even if they're ID didn't match what was printed on their boarding pass but that led to hi-jackers getting on planes which is not safe. So now, people of 18 years or older much show ID and it must match their boarding pass. They are allowed to be asked to show ID at any time. Before 9/11, things were a lot less strict at airports but now you have to do so many things in order to get on a plane no matter where you're flying to. I think it is important that students are taught about this tragedy because so many people had lost their lives and we should know that what was done was so extremely wrong and that we shouldn't think things like what the terrorists were thinking.

DeleteIn my opinion, I feel like it was more dangerous to travel before that event occured. For instance, the security wasn’t very good and people could’ve easily snuck something dangerous in another country. Now a days, after the incident happened, I feel like people became more aware of our security and how it was a good idea that they added some new rules before boarding a plane. Finally, I believe that it is important for kids to learn about this because we should learn from their mistakes and make sure to remember all those people who died during that tragedy.

DeleteThe travel before the events of 9/11 changed the way of air travel forever, before this tragic event air travel was very easy and there wasn't very much security. After 9/11 airport security became very strict and there was more of it to make sure that no terrorist attacks would happen ever again. I think it is very important for people who weren't alive to see the tragedy of 9/11 and to learn about it because millions of people died and it was a worldwide tragedy and no-doubt something people will be talking about for a very long time, if not forever.

After 9/11 airport security became very strict because they didn't want another plane highjacking or terrorist attack. ReplyDeleteThis event happened in 2001, I was not alive yet. Even though, my parents have told me how traveling is so different than before this event. Security was very weak and not as strict as now. For example you could bring water on the plane and you did not have to remove your shoes off, when you go through security. Security was less long and the way it is today. It did not take hours to go through security and you did not have to wait in as many lines of now. Also now you have to arrive hours in advance to make sure you don’t miss your flight. It’s important for all students to know about this awful event because it changed society. Just in a few minutes the world changed. No one had any idea what was going to happen, they thought they were just going to a normal day at work but soon that change. This is an example that we should appreciate our family and spend as much time with them as you can.

DeleteWhen this event happened, I was not born yet. So back then I did not really know what happened and how security worked, but my parents have told me many things about that. So back then I think the security for travel was very weak and not secure at all, the fact that a lot of people got threw with dangerous items etc. After september 11, the security in all transportation changed a lot, got more strict and harder to bring through dangerous items etc. For example now there are security everywhere in airports and if you have metal on you or something like that, they will ask you to step aside and check you even better to see if there is anything dangerous. It is important for students to know about this tragedy because most importantly they do not want us to even think about doing that in the future. Also that it had destroyed two world trade centers which were very useful and things that would've been great to still have today.

It has become better in a way that it is more developed and there are many different kinds of airplanes. Before this accident I feel like the sevuriy was very bad and it wasnt the safest. Maybe if it were safer some people wouldve survived. After the accident they probably realized they needed to make a change to make the flight safer incase other accidents were to happen. I think we need to learn about this to remeber all the people that died because of this and how much of a tragedy it was.

ReplyDeleteAfter the 9/11 incident, travel by air was very different. For starters patdowns were a necessity and so were metal detectors, they need to check through all your bags and electronics for anything suspicious and they will do random luggage checks just incase anything had been missed.
I think it is important for students to know about this tragedy because we need to learn from history and make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
Before 9/11 traveling was a lot easier and also more dangerous. It was also a lot easier to hide things and pass things through security. Nobody ever expected that tragedy to happen. After 9/11 everything was WAY more strict and you could get inspected for even something small and stupid. Also people were slightly afraid to fly because of the large tragedy. There are more rules and if they catch you breaking one weather you realize it or not, you will have to suffer the consequences. It's safer now than ever because as long as they have all that security they can find guns and bombs. Airports are safer now that more rules are in place. This tragedy has taught us that we always need to be cautious about rules and set more boundaries to keep people from doing horrible things like 9/11. This has also taught society to love and cherish every day you spend with your friends and family.

I only have a little knowledge from my parents and teachers about security before september 11 2001.Now a days your not allowed to carry liquide with you ,all check in and carry on baggage are screened and e.t.c. I think it is important for students to know about this awful tragedy. because they should know about the major incidents that have taken place in the history and how the security enhanced till this date .

ReplyDeleteAfter September 11th of 2001, airport security has changed immensely. There more strict and safe. They have more rules and regulations. Before 9/11, airport security was easy to go through that anyone can get away with anything. They believe that nobody had any bad intentions enough to have strict rules. Shortly after the incident, airport security has learned from it's mistakes and set rules and regulations for the safety of the people. I feel that learning about this is really important. It is fortunate that we are able to be in a much safer world because we learned the tragedies that occurred during history and found ways to prevent them in the future and to know about our history.

Id even say it affected the entire world policies on foreigners entering their country. In my opinion it's pretty rude to post jokes about such a tragically awful event such as 9/11. I think it’s definitely important that students, rather everyone knows about this event because it changed millions of lives, and I can assure you that this event still causes pain to families who lost their loved ones.

Deletethe 9/11 changed how we travel today. These days there is much more security within the plane and airport, you cant even bring water or the plane. Back in the day they didn't worry as much about bombings and what people brought on planes but after the 9/11 it changed the way people think and how the world is now.I think its really important for students to know about this because it makes us realize that anything could happen to loved ones in a matter of a second and to just love our close ones.
