I think that to be a supportive friend you should be understanding and always be there to listen to someone if they have a problem. A lot of people suffer with having mental health issues everyday and don't talk about because it must be very hard. If you know someone with any mental illness I think that you should check up on them regularly so make sure that they are okay. Talking to someone about mental could be very good for the person and being a supportive friend could be great too. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog! I agree with what you said, it's important to be supportive friend, especially during hard times.
DeleteGreat Blog! I agree that you should check up on them reguraly to make sure they are okay.
DeleteI think you can be a supportive friend by being understanding towards what your friends are going through and try to get them help if they need it. Many people chose to hide their illness or not talk about it because they fear the judgement from others. For those reasons, I think it's important to let your friends know it's ok for them to share their problems with you. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog! I completely agree with you and that you need to help your friends.
DeleteI don't think you can help a friend a friend with there mental health issues unless they come to you. Obviously if you see them sad you will go ask them whats wrong but if they want help and they want to talk to somebody I think that they should come to you because you can't tell if your friend is depressed or anything. If there sad all the time you can tell a little that there depressed but you can't tell fully. I think also that if a friend or family member is going through there mental health conditions and they do want help than you can give them a nice talk or lets say they are really depressed as an example, you should convince them to ask there help from there parents because they will help you the most when it comes to something like that.

DeleteI think you can be a supportive friend by listening to what your friend or whoever it is, has to say. Sometimes all they need is to tell someone and they will feel a little relief. It is important to let your friends feel comfortable to talk to you because it isn't good when someone keeps all their emotions bottled up like that. If a friend needs to talk, you should listen and try to help them to the best of your abilities. If you don know how to help, you should also know who to call to get them help. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said
DeleteGreat blog! I totally agree that you should listen. Sometimes that's the best way to help someone!
DeleteGreat blog I completely agree with you.

ReplyDeleteI think you can be a supportive friend by helping whoever may need the help. Always listen to what they have to say, and always try and provide helpful info on their current situation. Always make sure that your friend is comfortable telling what he's telling you, and don't pressure him/her into saying more if they don't want to. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI think you can be a supportive friend by just being there to listen. That person may not have someone they can talk to at home or someone they trust so earning their trust and having them open up and talk to you is really big for some people. A lot of people just need to talk to someone so be that person that they can trust and get advice from etc. Another thing you can do is if the persons condition is really bad and you're worried about them and that you think something could happen, you should be the bigger person and talk to an adult and see what you can do to help them. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your blog. It was super interesting!
DeleteI think you can be a supportive friend by making sure they know that you'll always be there for them. Maybe something is going on with that person and they may not know who else to talk to their situation about. By being there for them, you'll listen to their thoughts and what they're going through. You also should make sure to check in on them once in a while and make sure they're doing okay. Everyone should have someone who's always going to be there for them. Even if it's a parent, a student or your neighbor. It can change their lives, trust me. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog!I agree with what you said about it changing lives.
DeleteIf a friend is suffering from a mental helth issue, you should be supportive and if they are having dark thoughts seek help for them. You must be open and not judje them for talking to you about there problem but admire them for there courage because it's not always easy telling somebody about that stuff.I find that it's good that bell is doing this and donating money towards the cause.

DeleteIf a friend is struggling with their mental health, I think that you should listen and try to reassure them. Make sure that you don't judge them or tell anyone about their personal business, though. They are brave for telling you about their problems. Make sure that you check up on your friends often to make sure that they're okay and that they can talk to you if they need you. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI agree, being supportive is very important and checking up on them is something really good.
DeleteI agree, you shouldn't tell anyone, that's private. Great blog!
DeleteI think that if a friend is struggling with any mental health problem, you should be there for them and help them. Always be supportive with them , and very open to personal subjects, but that information has to stay private and not be told to others. Always make sure to check up on that friend and be there for them, be a good friend. You should also you and the person, be comfortable, while talking to eachother, and making sure to show eachothers feelings. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog!
DeleteI agree with what you're saying. Good Blog!
DeleteI think the best way to be a supportive friend is to always listen to what your friends have to say and to take it ti heart, not just listen and ignore. You should always make sure to see what's happening with them even when not in school. You should also not criticize the person even in your mind because that will just make them feel worse.#BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI agree. Great blog!

ReplyDeleteI think the best way to support a friend with mental health issues or anyone struggling at all, would be to just talk to them and let them vent out their problems. I know from personal experience that just having someone listen to you could make you feel better. Obviously that won't "cure" them but anything goes, as long as it helps them. You can always give tips to people struggling too. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you on this. Great blog!
DeleteI think the best way to support a friend in need is to just let them talk to you and never give up on them. If they need you then you have to make sure your always available for them so that they can count on u to make them feel better and get help. Maybe talk top them to find out what their problem is and just make sure to get them help if they need it. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI agreed with all of your ideas to help a friend. Great job!
DeleteGreat blog! love your ideas
DeleteWhen your friend is suffering from mental illness and needs help, always make them feel as if they can trust you and know that they're always welcomed to come talk to you. Whenever they talk to you about their problems, make them feel heard and available to listening to their issues. If ever it gets too serious, you should tell an authority or adult to help them. Just by asking how they're doing and checking up on them can make a really big impact on someone's attitude knowing that someone cares.

I completely agree with you! Great blog!
DeleteI think that the best way to help a friend or someone in need is to talk to them and let them know that they will be okay, because being alone is the worst thing possible, so being mentally not okay and being all alone would probably be ten times worse. Supporting someone and getting them through tough times is something that can really change a person's life so just being their friend is enough to keep someone going. Getting real help is also important if the situation gets really bad, like talking to a therapist or a doctor about how they feel so guiding them towards that direction will really help. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI think I could be a supportive friend by showing them my understanding and to just listen to the,m because most of them time they just want someone to listen. If they need any help i would totally give my them it by going to see someone that could help them. Its better to say something earlier than later so that way it can end right away and not get any worse. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI agree! The best thing you can do is listen. Great blog!

DeleteI think that I could be a supportive friend if I can show them that I'm there for them and that I'm always able to talk. Also being able to listen to their problems in order to give advice or something. And I think checking checking in regularly would help, but only if the person is OK with that, because I don't think it would help very much if you came off as clingy.

Deleteoops lol
I think that I can be a supportive friend by allways being nice to them. Sometimes people can be mean and make a joke that might be something that can hurt them really badly mentaly. You can be a good friend by always listening and making sure that they know that they can talk to you and don't have to worry about being made fun of. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeletevery interesting, what a great friend!!
DeleteI can be a supportive friend by always being there for my friends when they need it. When they look down or give me a vibe that something is wrong I talk to them about it to make sure theyre ok. Even if you dont actually understand what theyre going through you can still be there to talk to them and try and understand them so you can help them. #belletstalk
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I feel we should be doing!
DeleteIt is very important to be there for your friends, especially with mental health issues, because you might be the only person they can trust. To be a supportive friend, you have to listen to what they’re saying and not talk over them about your own problems. You have to make sure not to try to one-up them with your own problems. You also have to tell them that you are there for them because you may not be able to solve their problem, but you can be there for them and let them know they’re not alone. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeletegood point! I agree that it's very important to be there for your friends!
DeleteI think i can be a supportive friend and just be there for them when there going through tough times. Being able to listen to them is always a good thing because you have no or little idea of what there going through. If there was no one to be there for them mental health issues can evolve from there and could possibly turn into suicide. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteIt is very important to be there for your peers/friends, especially with mental health issues. There are many things you can do as a friend to help someone out. For instance, you can listen to what their problems are and give them some advice or maybe even contact a peer to help with the situation. Another thing you could do is tell them that you're there for them, just to reassure them that they are not alone. #BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI think that if I was there for my friend when that friend was going through tough times, I can be supportive, because if it were me being depressed or something I would want someone to be there for me when I'm sad or lonely. I think that the most important thing in that situation would be to just listen to them vent and maybe give your advice on some things, but mainly just to listen because that can really make a huge difference in their attitude that day, because they will see that their friend cares about them and maybe lighten up their move. #BellLetsTalk

ReplyDeleteI think that a good way to be supportive to a friend it would be best to just listen to what they have to say. I think that it would be a bad idea to comment on what they are going through, some people say things like “oh I understand” is something bad to say because you probably have no idea what they are going through. I think that the best thing to do is to try and push them to get professional help because nothing you can do is better than consulting a professional.
ReplyDeleteI think that the main thing you have to be a supportive friend is simply to look out for them and always listen if they try to talk to you about something like mental health. I also think to be a supportive friend is to encourage them and help through their rough times. to help end the stigma of mental illnes, i don't think there is anything i can do to end it, but there is stuff i can do to help such as donate to charities.#BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI don't think it could be possible to forever end mental illnesses, but to help your friend if they are struggling with any serious issues then you just need to show them that you will always be there for them, and to let them talk to you or ask you for advice You might not be able to help significantly, but letting them vent could really help them. #BellLetsTalk

DeleteI think that I can be a supportive friend by always checking in on my friends like the ones I haven't talked to for a while and just asking them what’s up to make them realise that they are not alone. Also being open minded and listening to them are the most important points for being a supportive friend so for example listening to their problems so they wouldn’t have to keep it all in and just so they can have someone to share their ideas without being judged. Being a supportive friend also includes being there when needed, so not leaving them alone during hard times. To help end stigma, I can let them know that it isn’t something to be ashamed of and to let my friends know that I will always be there for them no matter what. I believe that if everyone is a supportive friend, it can help stop bullying and also help end the stigma about mental health.#BellLetsTalk
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you wrote great blog!!
DeleteThere isnt really away to help end mental illness but I think you have to be supportive and be there for them on the good and bad days. If you know what they are going through and have to live like evryday at least talk to them and even though they have some problems you can still be friends with them. You need to be there for them to talk with and help them out when they need you the most.
