Over the past couple of years, many health organizations are trying to ELIMINATE the stigma towards mental health and mental health conditions.
How are mental health issues affecting young people?
How do mental health issues affect you or your peers?
What factors do you think are the main cause for mental health issues?
Explain.
(You should NOT mention names of people who suffer!)
I personally think that stress could affect you and your peers health. I feel that we have a lot of stuff to do so the stress can really build up. I think this can also cause depression and anxiety. I feel that stress is a really big part in mental health issues. If you have stress over a long period of time it could end up building up and could come very severe that they end up getting mental issues.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, great blog.
DeleteEverything you said is very true, I agree that stress is a big cause of mental health issues.
DeleteIn todyas world the mental health issues are affecting many people especially younger ones. People that do suffer with mental health sometimes make bad descions like doing drugs, hurting people, and even hurting themselves. Other people and these peoples peers probably think that they have problems and they dont wanna be seen with them or be friends with them but really they are suffering and you sould try and help them. Some main causes of mental health in my opinion are if people get very stressed, are fighting with family or friends often, are being abused, and many more.
ReplyDeletevery true and great blog!
DeleteI agree with most of the points you made, great blog!
DeleteToday a lot of people suffer from different types of mental illnesses, but teenagers are affected a lot because there's a lot going on, especially for young people or people that have just made a big change or transition in their lives, because it can create a lot of stress or anxiety which can lead to depression. I think the main factors are probably business (work piling up for adults or teens), drama with friends or family and more.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, great blog!
DeleteI think that mental illness affects a lot of young people because of all the bullying that is happening in school like st.thomas. When people try to make fun of me I know that it is a joke so I don't really care but I guess to other people it really hurts and I guess they get all depressed and end up doing things like killing tere bully or just killing themselves. Mental illness doesn't affect me or my peers at all because like I said before when we say stuff like your ugly or something we all know that it is a joke and we don't get all mad or sad when that happens but you never know if one day somebody will say something that actually hurts somebody.
ReplyDelete**When I say mental illness I mean mental health**
DeleteGreat blog. I agree with you.
Deletesuicide hurts everyone, i agree
DeleteMental health affects many people everyday and not just young people but older people as well. There are many different types of mental illness that can affect people in many different ways for example depression, anxiety and more. A lot of students go through a lot of stress because of all of the homework and assignments. I think some of the main causes for mental health issues are social media, bullying and more. I think that people should spread more awareness.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, I really enjoyed reading it!

ReplyDeleteMental health issues is effecting young people because of others opinions. Now a days, everyone is trying to fit in and try to be the one everyone likes. Not only does that destroy your true self, it also destroys your metal health. Mental health affects us by not doing well in school. If we don't do well in school then we won't succeed later on in life. I think that the main cause for mental health is social media because we are so focused on what others think of us and it drives us crazy. All we want to do is be accepted and want to fit in.
ReplyDeleteI agree, a lot of mental illness is created by envy of others, mostly because of social media. Great blog!
DeleteYoung people can be affected with multiple mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, anorexia, body dysmorphia, and multiple more. Mental illnesses affect our peers and make them think they aren't pretty enough, or smart enough... I think most of the illnesses start by because of the people we are surrounded by, and us being told we aren't good enough or that we don't look a certain way, so we aren't “as good” as we should be.

DeleteYoung people are beign affected by mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. I feel like all of these illnesses are caused by school and the people that are all around us. we always think that we aren't good enough and that is what causes us to be really sad. School also causes a lot of anxiety because we are at school all day and come home to do more homework for school. We never get a chance to take a break and actually enjoy life.
ReplyDeleteI very much agree with you
DeleteA lot of young people are being affected by metal illnesses, like anxiety and depression, usually because of school. I think that school gives us too much stress which could often lead to anxiety or even worse, depression. My peers are probably affected by mental illnesses, but I don't know. I don't think I have any mental illnesses because I am usually very calm and don't freak out about anything so I do not get very stressed.
ReplyDeleteMental health affects so many people today, especially teenagers. I think that teenagers are more susceptable to suffering from a mental health issue than adults since nowadays there is so much pressure being put on students and young adults, from social media, parents and guardians, everything affects everything in today's age. People nowadays try to turn to other things to help with the level of stress that can be put on them. Most of the time it's a bad coping mechanism, and I've experienced that first hand, and done that myself, and it didn't turn out so good either.
ReplyDeleteGood blog!
DeleteI think that mental health affects young people a lot more now because of social media and a lot more people get self conscious on how they look or how they are viewed by others. Mental health doesn't affect me personally but a lot of people claim to have anxiety or depression. I find this hard to believe because 99% of the people saying this self-diagnose themselves and really have no idea what they are talking about.
ReplyDeleteA lot of young people are affected by mental health in various ways. I think that almost anyone my age has dealt with it before. Whether it be you or your friends, everyone has faced it. I think that most people my age have mental illness because of school stress. A lot of teachers don’t understand what it’s like to be a teenager now a days. (Not you Mr.Katz, don’t worry) They put endless stress on us and think it’s okay. “You have three tests, an oral presentation and a french interaction, tomorrow. I also need you to get 8 hours of sleep, exercise and have a social life. Can you do that?” I guess they don’t understand that there are only so many hours in a day, and it’s not only them that give us homework. So many of my peers just can’t take that stress, and up with endless amounts of anxiety, and sometimes even depression. There are also, in some cases, issues at home that just add on to that pile of stress. I think that us young people just need a break from teachers yelling at us all of the time, we just can’t take it anymore.
ReplyDeleteAmazing blog! I agree, we need a long break from school and stress before it causes issues.
DeleteI think a big way mental health issues affect young people is due to the constant amount of stress and pressure we have in school. Every week we have more projects to finish, tests to study for, homework that keeps us up and even this year we need to run a business. The amount of work can be overwhelming. We don't even get weekends free. It's hard to maintain a social life when the only thing I want to do is sleep and cry when I think about school. I believe that one of the biggest causes of mental health issues is stress and the first thing that comes to mind when I think of stress is school.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I agree that these mental health issues can come from stress and pressure from school.
DeleteI think that mental issues are affecting a lot of teens. This is because teasing and bullying are very common in adolescence. Even when no one is bullying you, you still have loads of homework pilled up, which can cause significant undue stress. The homework can sometimes reach level which means that a whole weekend could be taken up by them. And social pressure are also more common among teenagers now days, forcing them to act or behave in ways which they wouldn't have otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree
DeleteI think mental health issues are affecting many teens and even young adults. I believe it comes from stress and maybe bullying. Sometimes its just fear that causes these from a traumatic experience. I think that mental health affects me and my peers in different ways. I think that it's different for everyone and no one is in the same scenario as much as they say they are. Mental health issues are becoming more and more apparent. More people have these issues than they did back in the day. I think these issues can affect your mood from others and their moods from you. Sometimes if someone is anxious it'll put others in a weird mood because most people don't know what to do to help. I think living up to what peoples standards can be really damaging to mental health and living up to people expectations of who society wants everyone to be can also be really harmful to people mental health.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on this very great blog!
DeleteMental health affects young people because they don't realize who goes through tough things on their daily life. They don't know what actually happens outside of school and at home. Sometimes the things that cause mental illness can happen at school aswell. It affects me or my peers bercauyse it's hard to see when people go through mental illness because its all on the inside and you can't tell who has it or not.
ReplyDeleteMental affects many young people, especially teenagers. It is so hard to see mental illness, because it is not anything physical and it could be hidden. I feel like a lot of mental illnesses start small, like stress from school. It can also be caused by bullying or trauma. People who have mental illnesses sometimes take it out on other people or do drugs. Anyone can be affected by mental health, no matter how old they are.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Anyone can be affected by mental health issues.
DeleteMental health issues affects a lot of young people in our society today. Most of the time it includes depression, anxiety and conduct disorder, and are often a direct response to what is happening in their lives. These issues affect our peers in many different ways. For instance, it can make them suicidal or maybe even turn them into something they're not. I do feel as if this comes from school like my fellow classmates said. It's really stressful when teachers yell at us all the time.
ReplyDeletemental health problems have a big affect on people and a lot of young people. these mental health problems can come from problems at home, but I think it mainly comes from school. in school, there is a lot of stress for some people and that is usually the root of the problem. this can cause illnesses such as anxiety or depression. I have never had any of these illnesses and I am pretty sure that my friends arent affected either, but you can never be 100% sure.
ReplyDeleteI agree school is probably a factor of mental health problems.
DeleteI'm not aware of anybody I know having any sort of mental health issues but i'm almost certain that it affects young people. For young people I think that a main factor is stress or a personal life issue.Kids might get some sort of negative mental health affect from having stress over school. For a peronal life problem, I'm not sure if this is a cause for mental health issues but if your family is abusive or have problems similar to that, it can probably affect your mental health.
ReplyDeleteI agree, having stress affects mental health.
DeleteI don't know anyone personally who has a mental illness but I know that it affects a lot of people. I think this happens because they are stressed or they feel unwelcome and are bullied by their peers. Again I don't know anyone that has or still does suffer from mental illness so it doesn't really affect me. I think some of the main causes for mental illness is stress and the feeling of being mistreated or bullied.

DeleteI agree. I also see bullying as a big cause for mental illnesses.
DeleteI think that many people that are young struggle from a variety of mental health issues. I could say that I see anxiety and depression the most. I think it is probably caused by many factors, such as stress from school and from other people who could be stressing them out. I myself have OCD "Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder" (a sub category of anxiety) and I see some people who have the same and/or a different form of anxiety or other illnesses/disorders.
ReplyDeleteMany young people are being affected by mental illness for many different reasons like stress and drugs. A lot of teens are suffering from stress due to the schoolwork like assignments, tests and projects and sometimes just family or friends drama. School is one of the main reasons for mental health issues because there are times when there are a lot of homework piling up and tests coming up that students need to study nonstop which doesn’t allow them to get time for themselves and just simply relax. This affects me and my friends by mostly stressing and this sometimes causes depression in many people’s life.
ReplyDeleteI agree that school can cause mental illness. Great blog!
DeleteI find that mental illness is very hard and can really effect someone's life. I feel that ways that you can get anxiety is by always having stress and feeling worried about everything. Depression could build up when you're going through a hard time and all the pressure builds up and can cause the situation to be even worse. It sucks since people don't deserve to feel this way and we should help them and support them. You should always look out for a friend, family member or classmate since it can really help them out and feel better about issues they're going through themselves. They would be greatly appreciative if someone cared and just checked up on them once in a while.
ReplyDeletegreat blog! I agree to always look out for a friend
DeleteWell i think mentla health ilnesses affect a lot of epople nowadays and cause lots of stress. Lots of people will get bullied and made fun of which makes everything worse. Espicially it does not help young people as they dont know what to do. You shoul always be there for a friend and keep an eye on them. Be supportive.
